Jef Geys. Quadra Medicinal Singapore - Curator-led Exhibition Tours
- SYNOPSIS -
NTU Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore presents Quadra Medicinale Singapore, the late Belgian artist Jef Geys’s first institutional exhibition in Asia. Centred around the medicinal properties of seemingly useless weeds growing inconspicuously in urban areas in Brussels, Moscow, New York and Singapore, the exhibition is a prime manifestation of Geys’s belief in the complete integration of art and everyday life. It also features some of Geys’s studio work. Providing a peek into his questioning mind, these works reveal Geys’s unique approaches to challenging established systems of knowledge.
Join NTU CCA Singapore's guided tours for schools that provide opportunities for thought-provoking discussions not only on contemporary art, but also on a variety of cross-disciplinary subjects encompassed within the exhibition - botany, ethnobotany, urban studies, environmental studies, and social studies! Led by NTU CCA Singapore curators, these tours are also platforms for honing observation skills and interpretive thinking for students and teachers.
