Genevieve Chua: Hands-on Workshop - Spatial Experiments
- SYNOPSIS -
About the exhibition
Genevieve Chua is an abstract painter whose practice is inspired by graphics and simulations. This exhibition includes print-based works developed during her artist residency at STPI, featuring printmaking techniques such as screenprinting on acrylic and relief printing on paper. The exhibition title, 'Twofold', reflects how Chua's work deals with arbitrary boundaries between "true" and "false" , as well as her tendency to create works that have a potential of expanding and taking on multiple readings.
Workshop at STPI
Explore the world of Genevieve Chua's painting series 'Edge Control'. Use your imagination to make your own geometric stencils, creating a series of two stencil screenprint posters. Participants will learn about positive and negative imaging, how to create an artistic composition as well as the basics of screen printing.
The duration of the workshop will be 1 hour, and can accommodate up to 15 students. Workshops will be led by STPI Workshop facilitators.
The workshop runs from 16 March - 17 April 2020 (Monday to Friday). Please send your workshop requests to email@example.com.
Join a Guided Tour to explore Genevieve Chua's 'Twofold' exhibition, as well as an exclusive look into STPI's Creative Workshop. Guided Tours of the gallery and creative workshop will be conducted by volunteer docents from Friends of the Museum.
