Angels In Disguise (A.I.D) is a rod puppetry performance about the help we receive, the help we learn to ask for, and the help we pass on.

A little girl demonstrates emotional resilience, despite being teased about her appearance. A man finally learns to care and respect others, and an old lady living with dementia, shares her ease at living with this condition.

With a fairytale-like setting, the performance is a call-to-action, to believe in warmth that can be transmuted, in communities that can be bettered, even with the simplest of gestures.

𝟭𝟱 𝗠𝗜𝗡 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗞 𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗣𝗨𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗥𝗬
In this 15 minutes post performance talk/demo, professional puppeteer/facilitator will introduce the different kinds of puppets used in the performance. If time permits, students will be invited on stage to try out the puppet. This enlightening and enriching talk will help students better appreciate the performance and puppetry.

Cost of 15 minutes Post-Performance Talk: $200

Bookings should be made at least one month before the date of performance/workshop. Any bookings made with less than one month's notice may be subjected to additional charges.

This programme is now adapted to:
1. Allow students to view the selected play or workshop through an online link to watch in the classrooms / during home-based learning or
2. English subtitles are provided.
3. Option for a live Q&A / interactive puppetry introduction session is available for an additional fee.

Digital Bookings can be made at least one month before the date of performance/workshop. Please note that stable internet connection would be ideal for viewing, or provisions can be discussed otherwise.

- LEARNING OBJECTIVES -

Our Outreach Department focuses on cultivating new audiences and arts appreciation via its arts education programme such as customised workshops, consultancy services and school/community tours that have:
• High educational and entertainment values
• Innovative and purposeful use of puppets to expand possibilities of story-telling
• A fusion of multi-disciplinary art forms to demonstrate artistic collaborations

𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆 / 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀:
- To gain an awareness of the art form, and develop an appreciation of the art form, through the introduction of contemporary and traditional puppetry, and new theatrical devices
- To be exposed to Singapore’s arts and cultural heritage
- To enjoy and explore elements of the art form, and to be able to express themselves creatively through it

Schools may use the Tote Board Arts Grant to subsidise the programme cost. There is a subsidy of up to 50% of the programme cost for mainstream schools, and up to 70% of the programme cost for Special Education Schools.
The Tote Board Arts Grant is not applicable to pre-schools. NAC partners selected pre-school centres to receive funding to purchase Pre-School AEP.
