Provide blended learning option with a mixture of synchronous and asynchronous modes of delivery In the 8 weeks Hip Hop program students will learn: - History of Hip Hop- Hip Hop body conditioning and co-ordination - Emphasis on dynamics on how the steps are to be executed: - 4 directions of isolations with sharp emphasis - Circular direction isolations with smooth continuous action - To bring out each individual’s groove that is influenced by the music. - Better co-ordination of the body through acquiring basic Hip Hop techniques used in Hip Hop dance. - Dance Choreography to better understand the style of Hip Hop and to encourage exploration of individual creativity and style in segments of dance routine - Dance Showcase, Summary, recap & reflection
- LEARNING OBJECTIVES -
The Hip Hop course is an introduction to the fundamental coordination of the body movement with upbeat music, to encourage their interest in movement and dance. The course encourages self-awareness, relationship management with peers and creative and responsible decision-making through dance. It encourages self-confident and also inspires students to love the different styles of Hip Hop dance, its history and culture. The objectives for the students within this Hip Hop course are to: (Base on SEL and 21st century competencies) - Understand how movements could also be used as a way of expression, rather than just words - Develop body self-awareness and improve body co-ordination - Explore musicality as Hip Hop dance works closely with rhythm and beats from Hip Hop music - Develop self-confidence through the performing of a fun Hip Hop dance routine - Generate self-awareness through reflection in journaling (*optional) - Cultivate self-management and responsibility to remember the dance steps taught to them during each lesson, and also taking great care of the props handed to them - Strengthen relationship management skills and foster responsible decision- making when they work in groups throughout the sessions and for the final showcase - Understand and Review Dance Safety (Dos & Don’ts of Dance) At the end of the program, students will be able to experience the Hip Hop dance genre in its many different forms. Better appreciate the Art form and building great friendship through team work in the dance choreography sessions. $4.00 per Hour
1. Per Hr Rate is $120 per instructor 2. $4.0 per student per hr is based on (30 student a class). 3. Whole Program $1440 (8 sessions of 1.5hr each). 4. Do contact us for modified program cost.
Schools may use the Tote Board Arts Grant to subsidise the programme cost. There is a subsidy of up to 50% of the programme cost for mainstream schools, and up to 70% of the programme cost for Special Education Schools.
The Tote Board Arts Grant is not applicable to pre-schools. NAC partners selected pre-school centres to receive funding to purchase Pre-School AEP.
The following programme is approved under NAC-AEP 2019-2022 until 31 December 2022.
