Presented by Ocarina House, the performance aims to spark an interest in picking up the ocarina and learn as a musical instrument. During the performance, musicians will showcase the various playing techniques on the ocarinas as well as introducing the history and background of the instruments.

A light-hearted performance presentation, repertoires such as local tunes (xinyao/ folk songs) and theme songs from animation movies will be performed in the style of solo, duet, trio and quartet as well. The Ocarina is an ancient wind musical instrument. The ocarina exists in various form ranging from four to twelve finger holes. It is attached with a mouthpiece that projects from the body.

The Ocarina is easy to learn, usually can be picked up within ten minutes of playing.

About Ocarina House
Established in 2014, Ocarina House (a proud creation of House of Music) is formed by a group of enthusiastic youths and adults who shared a mutual passion for music. This platform was conceived in hope to provide every music lover an opportunity to discover the joy of making music, through the Ocarina; which is an ancient wind-instrument commonly made from porcelain. This cross-century instrument is delicate, handy and relatively easy for everyone to pick up.

$1300 (Cost of programme is negotiable with booking of 2 or more shows on the same day.)

Schools may use the Tote Board Arts Grant to subsidise the programme cost. There is a subsidy of up to 50% of the programme cost for mainstream schools, and up to 70% of the programme cost for Special Education Schools.
The Tote Board Arts Grant is not applicable to pre-schools. NAC partners selected pre-school centres to receive funding to purchase Pre-School AEP.

The following programme is approved under NAC-AEP 2019-2022 until 31 December 2022.
