- OUTLINE -
Overview of Workshop This series of workshops explore an existing story using a variety of drama tools and mediums. The students will be transported into the world of the story using their physicality and imagination to create the characters and their surroundings. They will also get the opportunity to bring the story to life from page to stage. Course Objective Students will be taught about story structure, plot, content, language and themes in a fully practical and lively way. This workshop provides a new way of experiencing stories or texts students are already working on.
- LEARNING OBJECTIVES -
By the end of the workshop, students will be able to: [Knowledge Objectives] LO1. Develop an understanding of the setting of the story, locations and initial characters LO2. Demonstrate understanding of a story through practical performance LO3. Develop an understanding of the setting of the story, locations and initial characters LO4. Explain soundscape LO5. Use subject specific vocabulary when talking about staging. [Skills Objectives] LO6. Improvise characters, environments, dialogue, and action, both individually and in groups. LO7. Use sound to create dramatic moods and atmospheres LO8. Demonstrate physical control and expression through character exercises, scene work, and performance LO9. Control voice and movement to represent character LO10. The school shall be responsible for any performancebased cost (e.g. costume, set and props)
Schools may use the Tote Board Arts Grant to subsidise the programme cost. There is a subsidy of up to 50% of the programme cost for mainstream schools, and up to 70% of the programme cost for Special Education Schools.
The Tote Board Arts Grant is not applicable to pre-schools. NAC partners selected pre-school centres to receive funding to purchase Pre-School AEP.
The following programme is approved under NAC-AEP 2019-2021 until 31 December 2021.
