NAC-AEP Programme Details

Literary Arts

Programme ID: AEP0415962

There are two parts to this workshop. The first part includes an appreciation of children’s picture books or young adult fiction and tips on how to make a reading session come alive. In the second part of the workshop, the students will move from story reading to storytelling.

There are many ways of telling stories and using objects while telling stories is one of the most enjoyable ways, for both the teller and the audience.

In this very practical workshop, students will be introduced to some stories that are enhanced by the use of objects. These may include: string stories, drawing stories, paper folding or tearing stories or handkerchief stories. The students will have the opportunity to explore some props and practice their use.

• Introduction to books and story reading techniques.
• Introduction to different styles of storytelling.
• Demonstrations of storytelling with props.
• Performance techniques.
• Students explore the use of props.
