Freely Playing, Suddenly Dancing: Creative Movement for Pre-Schoolers

Throughout this creative movement course, children will engage their imaginations in dancing freely and expressively, while learning the basic elements of dance. Children will work with dance facilitators who will create space for free play, while directing the course towards making a short dance performance together. Children will be encouraged to observe and reflect thoughtfully, using "See, Think, Wonder" to practice observing their classmates' dance. They will be encouraged to ask questions, to work independently, and to work in groups, as they contribute to the invention of their own dance.

Learning Goal: Enjoy music and movement activities, enjoy dancing freely and expressively.

- Develop greater awareness of their bodies, their strengths and their limitations
- Harness their spontaneity in creative movement ideas, have their ideas valued by facilitator/s, shaped together in an inventive dance
- Develop awareness of others’ bodies and ideas

Learning Outcomes:
