- OUTLINE -
DIGITAL FORMAT AVAILABLE TO SCHOOLS ___________________________________________ This programme is now adapted to: 1 .Allow students to view the selected programme through an online link to watch in the classrooms/during homebased learning or 2. Allow students to view a Live broadcast of the selected programme in the classrooms when the cast performs live in the school hall. The programme will begin with an introductory talk-cum-demonstration on Indian classical music and dance. The ensemble, which includes vocals, violin, veena, flute, mridangam and pakhawaj, will demonstrate music in the Carnatic style (South Indian) as well as in the Hindustani style (North Indian). These will also be visually presented by dancers in the two styles. Finally there will be a Jugal Bandi (a musical dialogue) between the North and South Indian styles accompanied by the dancers. A short interactive session will be incorporated.
- LEARNING OBJECTIVES -
To expose students to the colourful Indian musical instruments and dance of both the north and south regions, which are all part of the rich cultural heritage present in Singapore. To enable students to experience not only the special tonal qualities of the Indian instruments but also the Indian style of musical improvisation such as rhythmic variation.

- COST -
Schools may use the Tote Board Arts Grant to subsidise the programme cost. There is a subsidy of up to 50% of the programme cost for mainstream schools, and up to 70% of the programme cost for Special Education Schools.
The Tote Board Arts Grant is not applicable to pre-schools. NAC partners selected pre-school centres to receive funding to purchase Pre-School AEP.
