Say That Again! - A Whimsical Dance Conversation
- OUTLINE -
Say That Again is a part-choreographed and part-improvised dance work that is built on commands the performers give each other. The commands and corresponding movement begin simply - walk, walk backwards, turn left, wave hi - and get more complex as they accumulate with adjectives and with time limitations. Over time, the performance gets whimsical as the performers task each other to increasingly challenging, silly and almost impossible movement. (See detailed programme outline)
- LEARNING OBJECTIVES -
1. Students are entertained and feel enjoyment and intrigue as they watch the performance 2. Students gain exposure to how pedestrian and familiar movement, as well as everyday conversations, can be used to create a dance performance 3. Students identify that dance is an art form that makes use of the body, and that bodies are capable of many different things
