I Can Do Tradional Tie And Dye!

- OUTLINE -

The student will learn, understand and appreciate the Art Of Traditional Fabric Dyeing from different cultures and its different techniques. • This programme allow students to be exposed to History of Fabric Dyeing, types of dyes and Natural Dyes. • The programme serves as an introduction to the traditional craft of fabric colouring and how the art can be practically applied.

- LEARNING OBJECTIVES -

The students will have a general understanding of steps of Tie Dying and other techniques of fabric colouring by going through the process. • Demonstrate that different folding patterns produce different patterns. • Identify Primary Colors and learn how to mix Secondary Colors through creating student’s own Original fabric colour designs. • Be able to describe the tools and materials used in the dyeing process. • This programme will develop the creative skills and further capability of Textile designing for students • Students will be experimenting with colour mixes as they develop an individual Tie Dye work of art • Students will be introduced to the Techniques of Folding, Tying, Twisting, Crumpling, Gradient, Salt and Bandhani

Schools may use the Tote Board Arts Grant to subsidise the programme cost. There is a subsidy of up to 50% of the programme cost for mainstream schools, and up to 70% of the programme cost for Special Education Schools.
The Tote Board Arts Grant is not applicable to pre-schools. NAC partners selected pre-school centres to receive funding to purchase Pre-School AEP.

The following programme is approved under NAC-AEP 2019/2020 until 31 December 2020.
