All about Jive Dance (Sec/Tertiary)
- OUTLINE -
This programme aims to introduce Jive dance as one of the ballroom dances. Students will develop the knowledge and skills with more vocabulary as they learn the dance movements. Students will also be engaged in partnering where they will experience the role of male and female dancers. Most importantly, students will develop a greater sense of responsibility to work with their partners. They will also learn to show respect to different gender and appreciate the effort contributed by both parties. At the end of the programme, students in pairs will present a Jive dance together with confidence and joy.
- LEARNING OBJECTIVES -
1. Students will be introduced, exposed and engaged in the learning of Jive dance where their interest, knowledge and skill in Jive Dance can be developed. 2. Character development in the area of responsibility, respect, self-esteem, confidence and appreciation will be educated to students. 3. Students will demonstrate their learning by presenting a dance showcase together with their partner at the end of the programme. 4. This dance programme will be carried out with our C.A.R.E approach where interaction through various modes will be used to enhance the learning process.

- COST -
$7-$10 per Hour
Schools may use the Tote Board Arts Grant to subsidise the programme cost. There is a subsidy of up to 50% of the programme cost for mainstream schools, and up to 70% of the programme cost for Special Education Schools.
The Tote Board Arts Grant is not applicable to pre-schools. NAC partners selected pre-school centres to receive funding to purchase Pre-School AEP.
The following programme is approved under NAC-AEP until 31 December 2016.
